A billboard honoring Charlie Kirk in Asheville, NC, was reportedly vandalized with anti-fascist messages, though the photo’s authenticity is unverified.
A billboard in Asheville, North Carolina, honoring conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was reportedly destroyed. Photos of the alleged vandalized billboard surfaced on social media, sparking massive outrage.
Charlie Kirk, conservative activist who founded Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at Utah State University in Orem, Utah on September 10. The photo of the allegedly vandalized billboard is Ashville had the quote: “The blood of the martyr is the seed of the church.”
It was allegedly vandalized with white spray paint. The following was written on it: “Smash fascism, stand up, fight back.”

The post gained a lot of attention from users across the X, one of the users wrote, "I can't believe this would have happened here in Asheville NC."

A different user chimed, “No one should vandalize property, but let’s not act surprised that a public figure like Charlie Kirk sparks strong reactions. He built his platform on division, mockery, and misinformation. You may admire him, but millions see him as someone who profits from resentment. Both views exist, and pretending otherwise ignores reality.”
Another user fumed, “Asheville is where our retirement home is but it was bought 20+ years ago before the violent white progressive gangs took over from the peaceful mountain folks and hippies. The mountains are still my wife’s happy place but we are now contemplating a more sane location further up the Blue Ridge.”

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed
Kirk was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University, the first stop of his planned “American Comeback Tour.” Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler James Robinson of Utah in connection with the shooting.
Following his death, Erika shared a tribute standing beside the chair he used to record his podcast. “The movement my husband built will not die — I refuse to let that happen,” she said, vowing that Turning Point USA would continue its campus tour.
