Around 130 militants and 45 Pakistani soldiers have died in two days of intense fighting in a troubled tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the army said on Tuesday.
Fighting broke out in North Waziristan on Monday after the rebels bombed army convoys and the military responded with air strikes and ground operations, top military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad told AFP.
"Forty-five security personnel have been martyred and 130 militants killed in the two days of fighting in North Waziristan," Arshad said.
