Daya Master, George were arrested, not surrendered: LTTE

The LTTE has claimed that Tiger Supremo Velupillai Prabhkaran’s two aides Daya Master and George had not surrendered but were arrested when the Puthumathalan hospital in No Fire Zone was captured by the Sri Lankan security forces today.

“They both were very sick and were in the hospital when they were arrested by the Sri Lankan security forces when they took the hospital under control in Puthumathalam,” LTTE sources were quoted as saying in a report.

On the other hand, military spokesman Udaya Nanayakkara said the two had surrendered along with their families as the LTTE has been cornered and they found no way to escape.

Velayutham Dayanidhi better known as Daya Master and George surrendered at Puthumathalan in the No Fire Zone amid the raging battle between LTTE and Lankan security forces.

While Daya Master was a former media coordinator of LTTE, George was the translator for slain Tiger political head Thamilchelvan.
