A total of 258 of the deported Pakistani nationals escaped from the airport's domestic lounge shortly after they arrived from Turkey on two flights this morning.
Interior ministry chief Rehman Malik suspended the shift in-charge and the entire staff present at Benazir Bhutto International Airport and ordered an official inquiry.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the people who escaped, interior ministry officials said.
