"According to sources, security organisations (have) warned that a suicide bomber has entered (the) sensitive area of Lal Kurti in Rawalpindi. Security has been put on high alert," The News said.

It said the suicide bomber was 12 or 13 years old, was wearing a uniform and carrying a racket or cricket bat. "Security organisations fear he could target the car of a high ranking official," it added.

The Lal Kurti neighborhood in the heart of Rawalpindi cantonment was the hub of Pakistan's military and political activities, especially in the 1960s.
