Tropical storm Nanmadol with winds up to 72 kmph made landfall in southeast China early Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The storm made landfall around 2.00am in Jinjiang city of Fujian province, local authorities said.
It brought heavy rains to the region, and precipitation was expected to last till Friday, the met office said.
