The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) on Friday issued admit card for candidates who want to appear for the examination to recruit post graduate teachers (PGTs), trained graduate teachers (TGTs), miscellaneous teachers and third language teachers (TGT IIIrd language).

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) on Friday issued admit card for candidates who want to appear for the examination to recruit post graduate teachers (PGTs), trained graduate teachers (TGTs), miscellaneous teachers and third language teachers (TGT IIIrd language).

The examination will be held on December 11, 2016.

Steps to download admit card:

1) Visit the official website of NVS

2) Click on the link ‘Download Admit Card’ at the bottom of the page to go to the login page

3) Enter details as instructed

4) Click on Submit

5) Admit card will be displayed on the screen

6) Download it on your computer and take a printout

Candidates will not be allowed to appear in the written exam without a proper admit card. The venue of the examination centre of the candidate will be intimated in the admit card.

The exam is being held to recruit 880 PGTs, 660 TGTs, 255 miscellaneous teachers and 235 third language teachers. However, the number of vacancies advertised is tentative.

Exam scheme

There will be a common written test for the posts of PGTs, TGTs, miscellaneous teachers and third language teachers. The exam will be of 200 marks and candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to solve the questions.

There will be 40 questions on general English (20) and Hindi (20); 30 questions on general awareness; 30 questions on general intelligence, numerical ability and reasoning; 20 questions on teaching aptitude and 80 questions on the concerned subject knowledge.

The difficulty level of the questions for PGTs will be of post graduation standard and for TGTs and others it will be of graduation standard.

Selection process

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written exam as well as an interview.

NVS has the right to decide the cut off marks for written examination and interview separately. However, TGTs, miscellaneous teachers (Librarian) and TGTs (III Language) will be selected on the basis of the performance in the written exam only.
