Jinson Johnson and the Women’s 4x400m relay team clinched gold medals while Seema Punia and PU Chitra settled for bronze in Women’s Discus and Women’s 1500m respectively on Day 12 of Asian Games 2018. The Men’s 4x400m team added another silver to the kitty as India had a good outing in athletics. It is going to be India vs Pakistan in the men’s hockey bronze medal match. Pakistan lost to Japan 0-1 in the second semi-final.
Good day for India
Two gold medals, one silver and two bronze medals in athletics on Day 12 for India. However, the one big disappointment was the elimination of the men’s hockey team from the semi-final stage!

Cash prize for Swapna Barman
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a government job for Swapna Barman, India’s first-ever Asian Games gold medal winner in heptathlon.

In the track cycling sprint event, India’s Aleena Reji is in a good position to qualify for the ⅛ round.
