PU senate elections: Committee to submit recommendations

The committee has been constituted under the chairpersonship of RK Singla, former dean university instruction (DUI) of PU and will have two DSWs, an associate DSW and Rattan Singh of University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS)

The committee members said they will hold discussions regarding the 2018 report prepared for senate reforms and the recommendations chalked out during the discussions will be sent to the chancellor’s office. (HT file)

PU to approach Dr Manmohan Singh’s family over his book donation promise

As per PU’s former vice-chancellor (V-C) Arun Kumar Grover who was serving in 2018, the then PM Dr Singh had written to the varsity over donating 3,500 books and memorabilia in his collection, which also included photographs and paintings.

At 11.3°C, Chandigarh sees coldest day of season, fog brings down visibility

Severe cold day conditions are declared in this region when minimum temperature is 10°C or lower and maximum temperature falls over 6.5 degrees below normal. This is the first day of severe cold day conditions in Chandigarh this season.

Visibility remained just 50 metres in Chandigarh at 5.30 am, which is considered as very dense fog. It had improved to 300 metres at 8.30 am, which is considered as moderate fog, as per the IMD. (HT File)
