In Batti Gul Meter Chalu’s song Hard Hard, Shahid Kapoor dances with all the energy he could muster for a song that isn’t worthy of it.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu song Hard Hard: Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were made to suffer the weirdest dance steps in this song.

If the trauma of Gold Tamba was not enough, a new song from Batti Gul Meter Chalu is here to assault your ears again. In Hard Hard, Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor dance hard to song hardly worth a single listen. The new song is sung by Mika Singh and continues the trend of ‘anything goes’ lyrics from Gold Tamba. Here is a sample:

Hath lagaega, shock tu khaega
Bijli giraake main
Chipkega mujhse toh liquid hojaega
Lagta tu soft bada
Baby hard hard hard naachege

The song’s video has the Kapoors taking the lyrics a little too seriously. They stomp their feet, pretend to be dogs, dance like stiff zombies and play with tennis balls when the lyrics clearly make a reference to cricket. Suddenly, Farida Jalal and a bunch of other oldies join in on the party, ready to break their own ankles.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu, directed by Shree Narayan Singh of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, failed to impress with its trailer as well. Shahid plays a man who could not care less about his town’s troubles with electricity. He pees in the dark, eats in the dark, romances Shraddha in the dark and entertains the whole town in the dark, thereby romanticising a problem that should have been solved long ago.

Everything goes swimmingly until his friend, played Divyendu Sharma, decides to open a factory. Soon, the factory is struck by lightning when the electricity company sends a bill of Rs 54 lakhs to his door. Unable to figure out a solution, he dives into the Beas river, killing himself. Heartbroken Shahid decided to teach the electricity company a lesson and drags them to court.

The film also stars Yami Gautam and is slated for a September 21 release.
