Bollywood actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has begun work on his next sports drama Toofan and has shared a video from a training session where he is seen boxing. Toofan is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

Sharing the video, Farhan wrote on Instagram, “It’s not just about strength but speed as well #ToofanInTheMaking @drewnealpt @samir_jaura @rakeyshommehra @ritesh_sid.” More videos from his workout sessions have also surfaced online.

Rakeysh and Farhan have earlier collaborated on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, a film on the real life story of Milkha Singh. The new film will be a fictional one on boxing. Farhan will train in boxing to get into the character for Toofan.

Talking about the film, Rakesyh had earlier told PTI, “I am most excited for the film. I can’t talk much because we haven’t even started shooting. We are planning to go on the floors by the end of the year. Both Farhan and I are getting to work with each other after six years. We have always been bouncing ideas off each other. Anjum Rajabali has written this very endearing love story of a boxer, it’s not a real life figure but a fictitious character. What I liked the most about it (the story) was that it has a new voice. It’s set among the lower middle class. Boxing is not a rich man’s sport, anywhere in the world.”

Last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do, Farhan has completed the shoot for Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink that will also feature Priyanka Chopra. The Sky is Pink also features Dangal fame Zaira Wasim in a pivotal role.
