Several Bollywood celebrities including Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan were spotted at Karan Johar’s mother Hiroo Johar’s birthday bash on Monday.

Filmmaker Karan Johar hosted a special birthday party for his mom Hiroo Johar on Monday. The wife of late filmmaker Yash Johar turned 76 this year and ringed in her birthday with several of her industry friends including Jaya Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore attended the party at a Mumbai restaurant.
Jaya was among the first ones to arrive for the bash in a cream kurta salwar with her grey hair left open. Salman Khan’s mother Salma also attended the party and looked lovely in a pastel green sharara. Veteran actor Jeetendra’s wife and TV producer Shobha Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor’s wife Nila Devi were among others who joined the Johars in the celebrations.
Host Karan was dressed in black-and-white casuals while his mom Hiroo was in a green suit. Pictures from the cake-cutting ceremony were shared online and show Karan placing a kiss on her forehead as she stands in front of her lotus themed cake.
A video from the party show Hiroo giving her birthday speech and has to call Karan twice to pay attention as he is seen chatting with her friends. He is heard saying, “let’s do it every alternate year” when someone calls for such a party at least twice a year.

Earlier, Rani Mukerji and husband Aditya Chopra were spotted at their residence last night. The couple had visited Hiroo to wish her on her birthday.
Karan had thrown a lavish party for Hiroo’s 75th birthday last year. She is a grandparent to his twins Roohi and Yash, born through surrogacy. While Yash is named after the senior Johar, Roohi is a rearrangement of Hiroo’s name.
