Actor Varun Dhawan’s diary for 2016 is already full. He is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale with Shah Rukh Khan and after that brother Rohit Dhawan’s thriller Dishoom is lined up.

What about Karan Johar’s Shuddhi where he will be paired opposite Alia Bhatt once again? Rumours doing the rounds suggest that the film has been indefinitely postponed. Clearing the air, Varun says, “I don’t know why people assume it’s delayed, but I was never supposed to do Shuddhi this year. Karan will decide when we start shooting for the film. I need to give one whole year to the film and it’s definitely not happening in 2016.”

Though one schedule of his brother’s Dishoom has already been shot, a major chunk of the film is yet to be completed and was recently stalled when actor John Abraham (also in the film) met with an accident. “I haven’t gone home for close to 55 days now. We shot for a schedule in Morocco and were supposed to go for our next schedule but John got injured. So now, we are now going to shoot in Mumbai instead. I want to go and see him as he’s badly hurt,” says Varun.

After this, he will move on to another film with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan. “There is a Dharma film where I am working with Shashank again. He’s a close friend and I really wanted to work with him. He is an actor so he knows how to get the best out of me. He directs me really well so we have been waiting to work together. He is currently adding final touches to the script.”
