Pooja wrote in the caption, “Taking delight in random encounters that come our way is a wonderful reminder that a higher power is in control. Couldn’t ask for a better farewell as we head back to India from România in time to cast our vote. This intimate stranger, with a rope tied around his waist as a belt, filled our morning with joy and shall remain etched in our hearts forever.”

The video shows Mahesh and the Romanian man, who says, “We’re business people, we’re travellers, and we’re thieves,” which leaves Mahesh with a shocked expression on his face. When he questions the stranger about what he means, the man explains that Ganesha looks after businessmen, travellers and thieves - but Mahesh doesn’t look convinced.

Sadak was a 1991 romantic thriller, directed by Mahesh and starring Pooja and Sanjay Dutt. Both actors will reunite in Sadak 2, which was announced on the filmmaker’s 70th birthday. Behind-the-scenes pictures from the recce have already been shared by Pooja on her Instagram account.

The filmmaker had spoken to Hindustan Times about casting Alia in the film. He said, “It was Sanju, Mukesh and Pooja, who suggested that it (Sadak 2) should be narrated to Alia but we hadn’t considered her while writing the script. Alia is a difficult cookie to crack because she only responds with her heart; she’s very clear about whether she wants to embrace it wholeheartedly or say no. Honestly, she doesn’t have to say yes and prove anything vis-à-vis our relationship; I also wouldn’t belittle our relationship by putting this burden on her. We gave a full narration to her and by the end of it; she was left shaking and crying. That was one hell of a triumph.”
