Actor Satish Shah is among the most prominent faces in Bollywood, having been a part of almost a 100 odd films. But Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro will always be close to his heart, primarily because he was closely associated with the director of the film, Kundan Shah, who passed away in his sleep on October 7 due to a cardiac arrest. “He was a great friend! We all made the film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron together, we did not share the relationship of just a director and an actor,” says Satish.

Their friendship is not just professional. Satish and Kundan were college buddies too. “Kundan was my batchmate in Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as students. But I was not just in his first feature film—I was there in his first student film, his first ad film and his first television show as well! So, you can understand what kind of an association we shared. He also gave Shah Rukh Khan a good break in television with Wagle Ki Duniya
(1998-1990). He was a very understated, simple guy. It’s a great loss.”
