After a year-long break, Sonam Kapoor is back on the sets of her next film, Padman. The actor, who took a break after Neerja, said that she needed some time off as Neerja (2016) was an emotionally difficult film. Did she have any fear of missing out on good projects in the one year that she was off work?

“Not really. I kind of just believe in doing things at my pace. I have worked with some great film-makers and have been a part of some great films. But films like Raanjhana and Neerja were tough and I had to take a break,” says Sonam.

She has three films in her kitty this year – Padman with Akshay Kumar, the Sanjay Dutt biopic and Veere Di Wedding. And yet, the actor says that she wants to squeeze in time to do a course on film-making.

“Working on tough films takes a toll on me physically. I don’t use glycerine so every time I have to cry on screen, I genuinely cry. But I want to take a course; I am not sure what I want to learn but just to kind of learn something new. I had four amazing acting coaches and I do a lot of workshops before my films but this is something, I do want to take up seriously. I was planning to do it this year, but I don’t think that will be possible with three films. I am at a phase where I am excited and scared about my projects because I will be working non-stop on three films. I am most excited about Veere Di Wedding as I will get to work with Rhea (Kapoor; sister) and Kareena (Kapoor Khan),” Sonam says.
