Vicky Kaushal plays Sanjay Dutt’s best friend in new Sanju poster

Based on the life and struggles of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Sanju will hit the screens on June 29, 2018.

Rajkumar Hirani, the director of Sanju - a biopic on Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt - has released a new poster, and it introduces another character from the film.

Sanju is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

This time, Vicky Kaushal has been presented as Sanjay’s best friend. It hasn’t been revealed who the inspiration behind his character is.

Both Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Sanjay Dutt in the film, and Vicky Kaushal are looking at each other and smiling. While Ranbir wears a leather jacket, Vicky sports a fur-coat.

Hirani wrote along with the tweet, “Meet Vicky Kaushal. Such a refined actor and pure joy to work with him. He plays Sanju’s best buddy. #SanjuTrailer out in 2 days on 30th May!”

On Sunday, a poster presented Paresh Rawal as Sanjay’s father, Sunil Dutt. The makers are planning to reveal one character every day till the trailer is released on May 30.

“It was difficult to play the young Sanju. There were more faces we had to show; the drugs and his mother’s loss. The fun was the Munna Bhai phase,” said Ranbir at the film’s teaser launch.

Written and directed by Hirani, the movie also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala, Jim Sarbh, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

Sanju is set to be released on June 29.
