HT Media clocks 13% growth in Q2 profits

HT Media Ltd, the publisher of Hindustan Times and The Mint, has registered a growth of 13% in its net profits for the quarter ended September 2011. Profit after tax (PAT) of the company stood at Rs 43.8 crore during the quarter as compared to Rs 38.8 crore during the same period in the previous year.

HT Media Ltd, the publisher of Hindustan Times and The Mint, has registered a growth of 13% in its net profits for the quarter ended September 2011. Profit after tax (PAT) of the company stood at Rs 43.8 crore during the quarter as compared to Rs 38.8 crore during the same period in the previous year.

Total revenue during the quarter went up 11% at Rs 493.1 crore compared to Rs 445.5 crore in the same quarter of last year.

Shobhana Bhartia, chairperson and editorial director, HT Media, said: "Higher advertising revenue on the back of expanding readership base has enabled us to post a healthy operational and financial performance despite a challenging macro environment. We are particularly pleased with the robust performance of our Hindi business in the quarter while the other print businesses continue to do well."
