‘Most powerful’ Mercedes AMG model to debut in India on Apr 11. Details here

The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance will be manufactured through the Completely Built-up Units (CBU) route.

Mercedes has officially announced the India launch of its AMG GT 63 S E Performance, with the model set for an April 11 debut in the country. The GT 63 S E Performance is touted as the ‘most powerful’ production ever of a Mercedes AMG.

By launching the GT 63 S E Performance in India, the German luxury carmaker wants to strengthen its portfolio of performance models in the Asian nation, reported HT Auto, adding that within the lineup of AMG cars available for sale in the world's fifth-largest economy, the GT 63 SE Performance is likely to occupy a ‘place of prominence.’

Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance: Features

(1.) The vehicle is inspired by Formula 1, and is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and an electric motor; the motor generates maximum power of 843 hp and peak torque of 1,400 Nm.

(2.) The company claims that the model takes just 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kmph and that, in the electric-only mode, it can travel around 12 kms.

(3.) In terms of design, it comes with a slightly modified front bumper, badging, updated exhausts, and new designs of the alloy on the 20 and 21-inch wheels.

(4.) The GT63 S E Performance will be manufactured through the Completely Built-up Units (CBU) route, which means it will be directly imported from the country of origin (Germany) to the destination (India).

(5.) There is, however, no information on its pricing. Mercedes began the calendar year with AMG E 53 Cabriolet, which is priced at 1.30 crore in India.
