Anurag Agarwal took over as the UT home secretary on Monday. Giving details, sources in the administration said Agarwal, after taking over as the home secretary, went to the Punjab Raj Bhawan and met UT administrator Shivraj Patil.

Giving details, sources in the administration said Agarwal, after taking over as the home secretary, went to the Punjab Raj Bhawan and met UT administrator Shivraj Patil.
He attended a couple of meetings along with UT adviser Vijay Dev, and also met the head of different departments.
Anurag Agarwal is a 1994-batch Haryana IAS officer, who originally hails from Uttar Pradesh. The 47-year-old officer has served on some of the most important positions in Haryana in the past.
Anurag was also deputy commissioner of Gurgaon and Kaithal. He was posted as managing director, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPN), and secretary, personnel, parliamentary affairs and vigilance in the chief secretary's establishment, before coming on deputation in Chandigarh from Haryana.
