Senior BJP leader Balramji Dass Tandon released the design of a sticker for the campaign. "Each individual should save a litre of water everyday," said Khanna.

He said these stickers would be pasted near all sources of water, such as taps, hand pumps and wells, to tell people that water conservation is the need of the hour.

Khanna said inmates of jails in Punjab and Delhi had been sensitised regarding water conservation. "We are teaching inmates and jail authorities methods of conserving water," he added.

The MP said he was making efforts to make the installation of a water recharge system mandatory in houses of the state.

BJP's organisational secretary Ajay Jamwal and Punjab government's assistant media adviser Vineet Joshi were present on the occasion.
