Khod hammers second successive century as Haryana drub Orissa

Abhimanyu Khod hammered his second successive century to help Haryana Cricket Association drub Orissa Cricket Association by a big margin of 136 runs in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) AllIndia cricket tournament in Bangalore on Wednesday.

Apart from Khod, who had scored 194 in the first innings, his teammate Sunny Singh also scored a fluent century (112) to help their side register an easy victory.

During the first three days of the contest, Haryana had batted first and made 483 runs in their first innings, courtesy centuries by Khod and Rahul Dalal, who made 136.

Chasing, Orissa gave the opposition a befitting reply, making 484 runs, and in the process claiming a vital onerun lead.

Orissa’s cause was mainly served by Abhilash Mallick and Biplab Samantray. While Mallick made 117 runs, Samantray remained unbeaten on 182.

On Wednesday, the last day of the match, Haryana declared their second innings at 250 for 7 in 43 overs.
Khod again came good with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 104, while Sunny Singh made 112.

For Orissa, Basant Mohanty was the pick of the bowlers as he accounted for four batsmen and gave away 55 runs.

Chasing the target of 250 runs, Orissa could just manage 113 before losing their last wicket in the 45th over.

With 44 runs, Govind Dodder was the top scorer for the losing side.

For winners Haryana, Rahul Tewatia put up a brilliant bowing performance to claim four wickets for 26 runs.

He ably supported by spinner Yuzvendara Chahal, who claimed three wickets for 54 runs.
