As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav iconic week celebrations from March 6 to 13, Government College of Yoga Education and Health organised mass yoga demonstration sessions at Sector 17, with the help of NSS volunteers.

The sessions were conducted by Roshan Lal, yoga instructor-cum-nodal officer of the college under the leadership of Sapna Nanda, principal of the college. Around 125 college students, a yoga instructor from Ayush and members of the general public participated in the event.
Various Yogaasanas such as suryanamaskar, trikonasana, tadasana were practised during the session and mental and physical relaxation meditation techniques were practised. An exhibition stall has been set at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh, where guidance regarding management and treatment of different ailments through yoga.
