A woman sub-inspector and a woman constable have been arrested for allegedly appearing as a proxy candidate for aspirants of the Group D recruitment exam of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) in Kaithal.

The arrested cops have been identified as sub-inspector Amarlata, who was posted in Bhiwani district, while constable Kavita was posted in Kurukshetra.
They have been booked under section 8(I) of the Haryana Public Examination (prevention of unfair means) Act and sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the FIR, the two women cops were caught appearing in the written exam at the examination centre in Sharda Public School in Duserpur village under Guhla police station of Kaithal district on Sunday.
The staff deputed at the examination centre found their finger impressions did not match with those of the actual candidates during the biometric attendance, the FIR stated.
They informed the security staff and the women were taken into custody. During interrogation, they revealed that they were associated with the Haryana Police and were impersonating as proxy candidates. The staff members also provided the footage of the CCTV cameras from the examination room.
Kaithal superintendent of police Upasana said that both the women have been arrested and the police investigation in the case was going on.
