The BJP is set to organise 12-day anti-drug yatras across all 117 assembly constituencies in the state from September 18 to 30. The Chandigarh meeting, for the first time, was attended by Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal, who jumped ship from the Aam Aadmi Party to join the BJP in April. Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Sandhu was also in attendance.

Poonia, who has asked the state leadership to resolve internal differences and strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level, emphasised the need for effective coordination, detailed planning and strong organisational preparedness to ensure that the “Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra” reached every section of society and conveyed the party’s message against the drug menace across Punjab.
