Three sisters jump into river in Poonch, 1 dead

The official informed that three cousins jumped into Pulsat River in Poonch town near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched and all three girls were rescued and taken to Poonch district hospital.

A 15-year-old died by suicide while two of her cousins were rescued by locals after they jumped into a river in Poonch town late on Friday, in what appeared to be a suicide pact.

The girl’s cousins are aged 18 and 25.

A senior police official said, “We have initiated investigations and a thorough probe will be conducted.”

The official informed that three cousins jumped into Pulsat River in Poonch town near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge. Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched and all three girls were rescued and taken to Poonch district hospital.

However, one of the girls was declared dead on arrival, while two are undergoing treatment.

“Prima facie, it appears that there was some family feud. Police have initiated inquest proceedings for now,” said the official.
