Citing public response, Delhi govt extends screening of Ambedkar play

The play was inaugurated by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 25, and it was supposed to run till March 12.

Citing an unprecedented public response for the musical play on the life of BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, the Delhi government on Saturday said the daily screening of the play at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will be extended till March 24.

The play was inaugurated by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 25, and it was supposed to run till March 12.

Announcing the decision to extend the show by another 10 days, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia decision was taken in view of the huge public response.

“‘Babasaheb: The Grand Musical’ will go on for 10 more days on public demand. It is heartening to see the response of the people for our show from all over India. I am glad that the Kejriwal government is acting as a carrier of Babasaheb’s ideology among the masses. We invite everyone to join our forthcoming shows and learn from the legacy of Babasaheb,” said Sisodia.
