DU allows Class 12 marks-based admissions in 9 more colleges

To fill remaining seats in the final phase of the admission process, Delhi University has allowed nine more colleges to fill vacant undergraduate seats based on applicants’ Class 12 marks instead of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.

The vacant seats are primarily in language-related Bachelor of Arts (BA) programmes, including BA (Hons) Sanskrit and BA (Hons) Hindi, as well as BSc (Hons) Mathematics.

“In continuation to the public notice dated August 21, 2026, admissions in a few more colleges have been started on the basis of merit of Class 12 marks, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria,” the university stated in a notice on Sunday.

The nine colleges permitted to admit students based on Class 12 marks comprise Indraprastha College for Women, Mata Sundri College for Women, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Sri Aurobindo College (Evening), Motilal Nehru College (Evening), Shyam Lal College (Evening), Ramanujan College, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, and Gargi College.

Earlier, in two separate notices issued on August 20 and August 21, the university had approximately 17 colleges to admit students through merit-based admissions. These colleges included Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Bhagini Nivedita College, Laxmibai College, Maharaja Agrasen College, Mata Sundri College for Women, PGDAV College, Rajdhani College, Satyawati College, and Satyawati College (Evening).

The Mata Sundri College for Women has featured again in the list, this time for allowing admissions to the BSc (Hons) Mathematics programme. In the earlier list, the college was included for admissions to BA (Hons.) Hindi, BA (Hons) Punjabi, and BA (Hons) Sanskrit.

The development comes as the university prepares to wind up its CUET-UG-based admission process for 2026–27, covering 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 B.A. programme combinations across 67 affiliated colleges, with around 71,600 seats on offer.
