Food delivery agent run over in southeast Delhi
The police said they were informed about the incident minutes before midnight on Sunday night and said his head was crushed by a vehicle. The nature of the vehicle that ran him over is unclear, as is the identity of the person who was driving it.
A food delivery agent working with an app-based service was run over by a vehicle on Sunday night in front of the Tughlakabad Metro station on the Delhi-Faridabad highway, the police said, adding that a case has been registered in the matter.

Police officers said they are on the hunt for the offending driver and vehicle they were driving.
The man, 32-year-old Narender Kumar lived in Vishwakarma Colony with his wife, two sons, parents, younger brother and sister-in-law.
The police said they were informed about the incident minutes before midnight on Sunday night and said his head was crushed by a vehicle. The nature of the vehicle that ran him over is unclear, as is the identity of the person who was driving it.
Officers probing the case also said they found Chinese manjha (glass-coated string used to fly kites) entangled on his motorbike near the wheel, adding however that the string was not found on Kumar’s body.
Deputy commissioner of police (south-east) Esha Pandey said they are going through footage from CCTV cameras installed in the camera to ascertain the sequence of events.
“Chinese kite-string was not found stuck on any part of his body,” Pandey said.
Kumar, who worked with the app-based food delivery service Zomato, hailed from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya, but his family moved to Delhi over 15 years ago, his family members said.
Narender’s maternal uncle Rishabh Kumar (25) said he received a call from Kumar’s younger brother Puneet regarding the accident, after which he reached AIIMS Trauma Centre around 2am.
“Puneet said Narender died on the spot. His bike was not damaged much. An ambulance came an hour after the accident,” Rishabh said.
“I hope the police check all CCTV footage from the flyover,” Rishabh said.
“We are in touch with the family and authorities to take care of whatever is required and could be done from our end. Our hearts go out to the bereaved family and have issued the necessary support possible,” said a spokesperson for Zomato.
Rishabh also said that Narender earlier used to work at a spare parts shop close to their residence.
“He was sacked from the job when he went to his village and took a long leave. That’s why he started working as Zomato rider,” he said.
Police said that they are obtaining CCTV footage and scanning them to trace the offending vehicle and a case under relevant sections has been registered.
