A man was allegedly duped of around ₹1.5 lakh by cyber fraudsters on the pretext of arranging a kidney transplant through contacts at a private hospital in Gurugram, police said on Saturday.

Police said the complainant was undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment when he came in contact online with a man claiming links with senior doctors and hospital staff. The accused allegedly took money between January 27 and April 28 for facilitating a transplant but kept delaying the procedure.
After verifying with hospital authorities, the victim learnt that no such arrangement existed. Based on his complaint, Cyber Crime Police Station East registered an FIR under Sections 318(4) and 319 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
