“Like veteran Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader late Ashok Singhal, every Hindu of this country wants the temple in Ayodhya and they want that it should be built without any controversy,” said Dhankar while talking to mediapersons at Rohtak on Thursday.

He said that people of the country waiting for the Supreme Court’s verdict on the issue.

He said after the approval from President Pranab Mukherjee, the Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act had been enforced in the state and would help put a check on cow smuggling and slaughtering.

He said the state government was committed to improve the condition of cows and two cow reserve centres would be set up in every district of the state. First such centre will be developed in Hisar, he added.

Replying to a question about delay in panchayat elections, Dhankar said the government wanted to conduct the polls on time but the elections were delayed as some people moved court.

GOVT HAS NO ROLE IN BASMATI PRICES

Reacting to the allegations of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s that the prices of basmati varieties had dipped due to government’s failure, Dhankar said the government had nothing to do with the prices of the basmati crop as the prices depend upon the demand in the international market.

“The prices of basmati varieties were same in 2012 during the Congress regime. The BJP government has provided relief by purchasing Pusa 1509 on the minimum support price,” he said.
