LDA-PWD panel to probe rule violations in Dubagga-Outer Ring Road widening
The probe was ordered after allegations surfaced that the road widening was carried out without mandatory approvals and with less width and pavement thickness than prescribed under sanctioned technical provisions.
A joint inquiry committee of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and the Public Works Department (PWD) has been formed to investigate alleged irregularities in the widening of a 3.6-km road stretch from Dubagga to the Outer Ring Road, built in December 2025 ahead of the inauguration of Rashtra Prerna Sthal in the Vasant Kunj area.

The probe was ordered after allegations surfaced that the road widening was carried out without mandatory approvals and with less width and pavement thickness than prescribed under sanctioned technical provisions.
The LDA secretary, through a letter dated February 18, 2026, nominated Navneet Sharma, superintending engineer, to represent the authority on the panel. The PWD has nominated three officers to join the inquiry: executive engineers Satyendra Nath and Rajesh Kumar, and assistant engineer Upendra Patel.
Senior officials have directed the nominated PWD officers to coordinate with Sharma and conduct a joint inspection of the road stretch. The committee will verify whether the executing agency obtained proper approvals before commencing work and whether construction met sanctioned specifications.
Officials have instructed the committee to complete the inquiry and submit its report to the competent authority without delay. Further action will follow based on the findings.
