Badlapur local skips Vikhroli stop, overshoots by 4 coaches

Mumbai: commuters on Central Railway experienced a brief disruption Saturday evening after a Badlapur-bound local train overshot Vikhroli station and skipped its scheduled halt.

The incident took place at 5.52pm when the CSMT-Badlapur fast train crossed platform 3, overshooting it by around four coaches, leaving waiting passengers confused.
Railway officials said the train’s guard applied emergency brakes, after which the rake was taken to Bhandup station, where it was held for about eight minutes before departing at 6 pm.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Railway authorities have launched a probe to determine the cause of the overshoot.
