Noida kids fared well in CBSE’s class 10 Term 1 exams: Schools
According to the official data, a total of 20,728 students in Gautam Budh Nagar district appeared for class 10 board exams, of which 12,199 were boys and 8,529 were girls
Most of the class 10 students in Gautam Budh Nagar have performed well in the Term-1 exams of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), results of which were declared on Friday night, school principals said on Saturday.

According to the official data, a total of 20,728 students in Gautam Budh Nagar district appeared for class 10 board exams, of which 12,199 were boys and 8,529 were girls.
Last year, the CBSE had announced that the board examinations for 2021-22 session will be conducted in two terms. The Term-1 exams held in November-December last year comprised objective-type questions with a total of 40 marks in each subject. The Term-2 exams with subjective-type questions are scheduled to be held from April 26.
The CBSE emailed the marksheets of the students to their respective school principals on Friday night. “The results for the class 10 Term-1 exams have been communicated to schools by the CBSE. Only the marks for the theory exams have been communicated. Hence, the performance of individual student will not be available on the website,” said an official statement from the CBSE.
Principals of several schools in the district said that students have fared well in the Term-1 exams though they had concerns as the exams were held offline after almost two years.
“However, most of students have fared well as the CBSE was generous in the marking system,” said Renu Singh, principal, Amity International School, Noida.
Singh, who is also the CBSE’s exam coordinator for Gautam Budh Nagar district, said that the schools are communicating the results to the parents. “Since it is a Saturday, most schools are closed. So, the results will be handed over to the students on Monday. However, at Amity, we have been getting queries on the results from parents and we are communicating the same to them on phone,” she said.
Seema Kaur, principal of Pacific World School in Greater Noida, said, “Many students have scored a perfect 40 in various subjects and have come out with flying colours in Term-1 exams. Some students tried to check the results on the CBSE portal in the morning, but the CBSE said the results would not be posted on the website. Our school shared the individual marksheets with the parents immediately after receiving the results.”
Astha Sharma, a class 10 student at Grads International School in Greater Noida West, said, “I have scored better than what I expected in the exams. This has boosted my confidence for the Term-2 exams.”
Aditi Basu Roy, president of the All India Principals’ Association (Gautam Budh Nagar chapter), and principal of Grads International School, said that students can improve their scores in the Term-2 exams. “These results are based on just 40% of the total marks. There is enough scope for improvement as the Term-2 exams are more than a month away,” Roy said.
“We are happy with the class 10 Term-1 results as almost 150 students from our school have scored a perfect 40. The students have emerged as true winners despite the difficult Covid-19 situation,” said a spokesperson from the Apeejay School, Sector 16, Noida.
However, parents said that the declaration of the results was delayed.
“With just 45 days left for the Term-2 exams, this was not a good time to declare the results. The results should either have been declared in January-February or with the final results after the Term-2 exams were over,” said Sukhpal Singh Toor, a member of the NCR Parents’ Association.
Yatendra Kasana from the All Noida School Parents’ Association said, “In the ongoing circumstances, students are under pressure. The CBSE should have released the Term-1 results much earlier.”
