With this win, India have set-up a mouth-watering semi-final clash against Pakistan at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 30 while the first semi-final will see Australia take on Afghanistan.

After opting to bat, India lost Manjot Kalra cheaply but skipper Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill revived the innings with a wonderful 86-run stand for the second wicket. Shaw missed out on his fifty but Gill stayed firm by building a 74-run stand with Harvik Desai (34).

Gill (86) missed out on hi century as he was caught by Bangladesh keeper Mahidul Islam off Nayeem Hasan as Bangladesh fought back in the death overs. Abhishek Sharma, though, played a crucial knock and his fifty helped India reach 265 in 49.2 overs

Bangladesh stumble

In response, Bangladesh stumbled to the pace of Shivam Mahi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as they were reduced to 85/5 and never really recovered. Nagarkoti continued to impress with his pace, consistently bowling over 140 kmph while Abhishek Sharma chipped in with 2/11 in addition to his fifty.

India will now square off against Pakistan in the ICC U-19 World Cup for the ninth time. However, Pakistan have a good record in this tournament against their arch-rivals, winning five and losing three encounters. In the 2012 U-19 World Cup, both teams played out a thriller in Townsville and India achieved a one-wicket win as they went on to win the title.
