Faf du Plessis confirms Glenn Maxwell's return to the eleven.

"We're going to have a bowl. It is our first game here so we aren't sure what the pitch is going to do. But it's just the general trend, and hopefully there is dew later on which we can make use of. Two wins out of three looks good," he says.

The spotlight will also be on all-rounder Kieron Pollard. One of the most experienced players in the league, Pollard also needs to step up. He had made a 5-ball unbeaten 22-run cameo in the last match.

"There is a good layer of lively grass and there will be pace and bounce on offer. But that could be a double-edged sword. Batting first might not be that bad an idea," says Deep Dasgupta about the surface in Pune.

"The retention is just a tag, I have played with the same responsibility for Mumbai Indians. Everything remains the same. Both MI and KKR are very different. My roles too were very different. I like blue, it is my favourite colour," says Suryakumar Yadav.

Bangalore lost to Punjab Kings by five wickets in their opener before registering back-to-back wins overs KKR (by 3 wickets) and Rajasthan Royals (4 wickets). A win tonight will consolidate their position in the upper half of points table. They are currently standing fifth.

Mumbai would look to get off to a good start and the likes of David Willey and Harshal Patel have to do well to restrict the opposition. Bangalore would also expect consistency from Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep. At the moment, Hasaranga has been pulling all strings.

Their batting looks sorted but Mumbai Indians could bring in Jaydev Unadkat if they decide to tweak their bowling unit. He could replace Daniel Sams in the eleven.

Mumbai have won 17 games while Bangalore have got 12 victories under their belt. Mumbai have an upper hand but they will certainly be under some pressure with three defeats in last four games against Bangalore.

"Karthik has been awesome. Just come in great form. Old fella is still doing it. I played with him in 2013 in Mumbai. Nine years later, we find ourselves back in the same change room," said Maxwell in a video shared by RCB.

"So, to see him go really well, and start well for us is awesome for us. We love having that depth in our batting order and he certainly gives it to us."

Dinesh Karthik has scored 90 runs in three innings at a strike rate of over 200. He is someone who can hit sixes from the word go, and the veteran is putting up a strong batting show to make a strong case for T20 World Cup. He has been through the end to help Bangalore pull off two successful run-chases this season.
