Liam Trevaskis is a left-arm orthodox spinner and capable lower-order batter who came through the Durham Academy before making his first-class debut against Worcestershire in 2017. He went on to represent Durham across all three formats, developing a reputation as a useful white-ball bowler and aggressive batter.
One of his earliest standout performances came in the 2018 Vitality Blast, when he produced a remarkable final over against Lancashire at Old Trafford, taking three wickets and conceding just one run to help Durham complete a four-run victory. He also became the first Durham player to take a List A hat-trick, achieving the feat against Worcestershire in 2023.
After seven seasons with Durham, Trevaskis joined Leicestershire in 2024 on a three-year contract, seeking greater opportunities in red-ball cricket. His versatility quickly became evident, both with the ball and bat. He made a half-century against Derbyshire in his first season and later produced an unbeaten 60 in the One Day Cup quarter-final against Hampshire to help Leicestershire through a tense chase.
Injury restricted his first campaign with the Foxes, but he returned strongly in 2025, claiming his maiden List A five-wicket haul before recording career-best first-class figures of 6/85 against Northamptonshire.
Trevaskis leaves Leicestershire at the end of the 2026 season after three years with the club, having been part of the side that secured promotion to Division One in 2025. He also scored 239 runs and picked up 6 wickets in 4 Second Eleven Championship games.
A cricketer capable of contributing in all three disciplines, he has offered Leicestershire a left-arm spin option alongside useful runs down the order and valuable experience in white-ball cricket. His career has been built around adaptability and a willingness to contribute wherever required, from match-winning spells to important lower-order innings.
