An effective left-arm pacer, Tara Norris, made history at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction when she became the first player from the Associate nations to be picked up by a franchise. At the age of 24, she is an exciting young talent, waiting to unleash herself in world cricket.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, Tara is half-Italian. She spent some years in Spain before moving to England at the age of 8, where she picked up cricket. She made her county debut for Sussex in 2014 and a year later managed to lay her hands on the T20 Cup. She has been an active member of the Sussex team in their success in the competition over the years.
Apart from that, she represented Southern Vipers and Loughborough Lightning in the Women’s Cricket Super League, a tournament which was a predecessor to The Hundred. She was part of the Vipers’ unit which won the 50-overs and 20-overs competitions. She also turned up for the Southern Brave in The Hundred and had a decent stint.
In 2021, she made her debut for the USA and managed to show her skills on the international stage. She has also been part of several development squads for England over the years. Now in 2023, she joins the Delhi Capitals franchise for the inaugural Women’s Premier League.
