During India's chase, they had needed 31 off 18 and looked in control. However, some sensational death bowling meant it came down to 16 off the last over. Ashutosh Sharma couldn't get the job done, but with 4 needed off the last ball, India ran back for a second. They then managed to get a third after a brain-fade saw opposite captain-wicketkeeper throw the ball away needlessly, forcing the Super OVer.

Earlier, Vijaykumar Vyshak and Naman Dhir leaked 22 and 28 runs respectively in the final two overs, handing Bangladesh A a formidable total of 195. The innings ended in a blaze as they smashed 75 runs in the last five overs, raining down sixes at will. Meherob Hossain led the late assault with an unbeaten 48 off just 18 balls, following Habibur Rahman’s earlier anchor role with a top score of 65.

India A had won the toss and opted to bowl in the first semifinal of the Asia Cup Rising Stars in Dubai on Friday. The focus, as always, is on Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been in scintillating touch. The RR youngster is the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer with 201 runs, including a blazing century. But beyond him, India’s batting unit hasn’t fully fired yet, and the rest of the lineup will be eager to make a stronger impact.

Their bowling unit, on the other hand, has been far more consistent. Gurjapneet Singh currently leads the wicket charts, while Harsh Dubey and Suyash Sharma have provided strong support.

India A began their campaign with a commanding win over UAE, powered by Suryavanshi’s electrifying 32-ball hundred. They stumbled against Pakistan in their next outing but bounced back with a win against Oman to secure a semifinal berth. Bangladesh A topped Group A after back-to-back eight-wicket victories against Hong Kong and Afghanistan, before suffering a defeat to Sri Lanka in their final league match.
