The agency’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), reconstituted in September last, had put Talwar’s parents, dentists Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar, under the scanner to verify if they had any role to play in the crimes. A narco test of the couple in February this year also revealed no clues.

The earlier SIT had held medical assistant Krishna Thadarai and domestic helps Rajkumar Sharma and Vijay Mandal as the accused.

Though the CBI said the trio had admitted to the crime during their narco tests, it could find no admissible, direct evidence linking them with the crimes.

The Talwars will hold a prayer meeting at Chinmaya Mission, Lodhi Road, between 5 and 6 pm on Sunday.
