According to the NDMC officials, as work is still on at the Shivaji Stadium, one of the training venues for Commonwealth Games, they cannot start work on the bus terminal.

"We had made a plan to carry out improvement work on Shivaji Stadium bus terminal which included the improvement of roads and other infrastructure work. We can't take up this work as we are still trying to complete the stadium," said a senior NDMC official.

The Shivaji Stadium was supposed to have been ready by June 30. Hence, the civic agency had earlier set a deadline of July 22 for starting work on the bus terminal and work was to be completed by September.

Officials claim that the bus terminal work will now be completed by November 11.
