The accused identified as Akash Sharma, a resident of Brahampuri in west Delhi, had made hoax terror calls to one Renu, a resident of Kirti Nagar. He had randomly dialled a number from his caller centre data list and it happened to be Renu's, the police said.

"Renu has informed us that she has received a call asking whether she has planted a bomb in Kirti Nagar area for which payment has already been made to her. After the complaint we tracked down the number and found the call to be a hoaxed one," said a senior police officer.

"After initial investigations, we arrested Sharma, who works with a call centre in Tilak nagar. During interrogation, he said he wanted to create terror in the area," the officer.
