Education: BA from Kisan Degree College, Simbahouli under Meerut University.

Political career: ““In 1993, Rambir Singh Bidhuri offered to get me Janata Dal ticket. I agreed and fought my first elections and won. It was the time when Muslims were unhappy with the Congress due to Babri Masjid episode. The vote from Dalit and Muslims helped me win this seat,,” said Ahmed. Joined the Congress in 1996. Denied ticket in 1998 elections but contested as an Independent candidate and won. He got third time lucky in 2003, when he won on the Congress ticket.

Family: Wife Suraiya Begum is a homemaker. They have three sons.

Cars: Ahmed travels in his official Ambassador car. His eldest son drives a Hyundai Accent. Family also owns a Maruti Zen.
