Conman held at press club

A businessman who promised higher returns to several investors and duped them of several crores was arrested from the Press Club of India when he was addressing mediapersons on Wednesday evening, police said.

A businessman who promised higher returns to several investors and duped them of several crores was arrested from the Press Club of India when he was addressing mediapersons on Wednesday evening, police said.

The accused, Rupesh Sharma (35), was running an investment firm and reportedly conned several investors, including policemen.

Police said he shut his office when he could not repay the investors and was on the run for many days. On Wednesday he called the media persons to clarify his stand when he was arrested.
