Dehradun: condition of gangraped girl improves

A 22-year-old Uttarakhand woman battling for life after being gang raped, allegedly by her landlord’s son and two of his friends, showed signs of improvement on Wednesday and was shifted from a government hospital to a private facility. HT reports.

A 22-year-old Uttarakhand woman battling for life after being gang raped, allegedly by her landlord’s son and two of his friends, showed signs of improvement on Wednesday and was shifted from a government hospital to a private facility.

The woman’s uterus and other internal organs were badly damaged in the savage attack in Udham Singh Nagar district’s Kashipur town on Sunday.

“We are taking all care that she is not disturbed unnecessarily,” said Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Anant Shankar Takwale.

Verdict in 9 days
Meanwhile, the court of special judge Jagdish Baheti in Khandwa disposed of a rape case within nine days of the production of the chargesheet.

It sentenced Kapil (22), a resident of Gomukh village to 10 years’ imprisonment for abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl in December.
