The Delhi police on Wednesday seized contraband worth Rs 125 crore — its biggest ever drug haul for the force in terms of the value of the seizure.
Busting an international drug syndicate, the special cell of Delhi police arrested four people and seized 370 kg Ephedrine — a party drug. The syndicate was being supervised by Dubai-based Abu Dada alias Baba. The arrested persons include a pharmacy graduate, identified as Sandeep Bansal, 36, and a Nigerian native Arther Frank, 42.

The others were identified as Mehboob Khan, 68, and Krishan Kumar, 42. Bansal graduated in pharmacy from Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy in Bangalore, police said.
“On June 15, specific information was received that Mehboob would deliver a consignment of ephedrine to a Nigerian citizen in Shakarpur. A trap was laid and Mehboob was apprehended when he got there in an auto-rickshaw to deliver over 50 kg of ephedrine to Arther,” Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, DCP (special cell) said.
Yadav said the arrest of Mehboob and Arther led them through a web of narcotics dealers and resulted in massive seizures of the contraband.
