ED seizes cash, 100 kg of silver from Chandni Chowk

Investigators have sought explanations from the trader as the agency suspects that the firm was allegedly dealing in import of gold and silver through illegal Hawala channels.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized unexplained cash and over 100 kgs of imported silver from Chandni Chowk area of the city.

The agency has submitted a report to the election commission in this regard.

The agency suspects it to be poll-related cash. The ED sleuths have issued ‘challans’ under provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), against the trader who operates from the ‘Kuttcha Mahajani’ area of the busy market.
