The woman, in her complaint to the police, has alleged that the two lab technicians gang raped her at the hospital’s X-ray lab in the first week of October, promising her the job as a data entry operator in the hospital. The gardener, attached to CPWD, also raped her once in the hospital.

She alleged that the doctor raped her twice after that, first at a guest house in Sarojini Nagar in mid-October and then at his dispensary in the hospital in November last week. The doctor had also allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 for the job. He took Rs 25,000 from her, police said.

RP Upadhyay, joint commissioner of police (southeastern range), said an FIR was registered on Saturday at the South Campus police station. “The doctor and a lab technician have been arrested. The local police teams are on the heels of the two other accused,” Upadhyay said.

Dr Ranbir Singh, director of Charak Palika Hospital, told HT that the services of the doctor were terminated immediately after his arrest. The two technicians have also been suspended. “An internal enquiry has been ordered into the matter. We are cooperating with the police in their probe,” said Singh.

A resident of northwest Delhi, the woman became friends with the lab technicians while interning at the hospital. After her internship got over in September, she remained in touch with them, as they had promised to help her get a job in the hospital.

The woman claimed that in October the two technicians asked her to meet them at the hospital. She met them in the X-ray room where they allegedly raped her.

A senior police officer said the woman returned home and kept quiet. On October 15, the two called her again and asked her to meet the doctor, who they claimed would approve her appointment. The woman met the doctor at the guest house in Sarojini Nagar where she was allegedly raped by the doctor, said police.
