For the next month, till the Games get over on October 14, there will be one lane less for you to drive on — on 37 roads.

To make matters worse, the wedding season falls between September 20 and October 15, according to pundits. A
number of community centres, which serve as venues, fall along the dedicated lane route.

“More than 25,000 weddings are planned between September 20 and October 15, 4,000 on September 20 alone, since this is the most auspicious date,” said Acharya Krishna Dutt Sharma. “Many will also get married on September 22 and 25 and on October 9, 10 and 11.”

The MCD has got 300-odd bookings for its community centres, said its press and information director Deep Mathur. There are also 175 bookings for MCD parks, 120 for NDMC areas and thousands more for banquet halls and farmhouses.
