A group of central government ministers will decide the route of the Queen’s Baton Relay in the Capital.

The decision was taken after the agencies concerned — the local police, traffic police, Delhi government and the Games Organising Committee — deliberated for almost an hour in a meeting headed by Lieutenant Governor and failed to charter a route for the relay.
According to sources, the Organising Committee insisted on taking the baton to all prominent landmarks and the state government showed its interest in displaying the baton in all nine districts of the Capital. The Delhi Police insisted on little exposure.
The OC’s ambitious proposal of unveiling the baton from a helicopter was rejected.
The baton will reach Delhi on September 30 and will be first taken to the CWG headquarters. It will enter Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on October 3.
